Anyone For Anya ~ A Sketch

Great sketch this week over at Anyone for Anya? and it gave me the inspiration to use the last of my new stamps that I got from Silly Monkey Crafts, Ian from the Rock the Farm set, I have coloured him in using copics and  added some touches of sakura stardust.  The main backfground paper is from M&MBI paper stack and the other is from DCVW Natural stack, did some embossing with the scales texture plate by Fiskars and have used a selection of dies from Nesties, Go Create, Sizzix and a punch by Tonic Studios and also added some ink as the white cs looked way too white!  The sentiment is a Raindrop Echo Designs from Whimsy Stamps

Crafty Sentiments ~ Royal Wedding

To celebrate the Royal Wedding on Friday Crafty Sentiments is challenging you to make a wedding themed project this week and the DT have made some gorgeous samples for you to see.  For my card I have used a kinetic card blank and I have kept the decoration quite minimal.  I have inked the flowers using versamark and then dusted them with mica pigment powders, I got in quite a mess by the end of it I can assure you!  I also cut out a frame using Nellies Multi Frames which I also inked and dusted, I have left the area inside the frame blank until I have a wedding to celebrate and can personalise it.  My image is the beautiful wedding Amy and again I kept my colouring to a minimum, I really couldnt decide on a colour for her flowers and while I was umming and ahhing Ria took one look at it and said I would leave the flowers white they look really good ~ so I did and I think I have to agree with her and am pleased wtih the effect and was able to use a few little white flowers with a gold mesh bow as my finishing element.  I think I managed to acheive what I set out to acheive and quite like this despite the mess I got into trying to make it!  I hope you can join us for the challenge we have 2 sponsors this week so be sure to check out the Crafty Sentiments challenge blog for all the details.

a bookmark for Ria

After seeing my Amy bookmark the other day Ria really liked it and decided she would like one too, so I set about making her one.  Now I have used the corner of a blue envelope and heat embossed the background then matted the image onto some blue cs which is dry embossed.  The image is Easter Ian which is a freebie from TGF and I have used this image as it reminds Ria of one of her favourite characters from the Fruits Basket manga series of books and the character is called Momiji.  She is very pleased with the bookmark! (thank goodness for that! lol)

Little boxes

Well as Ria was making her bracelets she asked if I could makes some little boxes for them to go in so I used the same template that I used for my Easter treat bag the other day that I had made from a piece of 12x12 this time I used some 6x6 cs and made 2 little bags and added the name of each girl to the bag and tied them with some ribbon.  Ria is really pleased with them and I have to say they do look quite cute all tied up.

I would like to enter these little bags into the following challenges

Ria (my 14 y.o. daughter) is starting jewellery making as a little hobbie and something different from reading, watching tv etc!  Tonight she has gone to a party for twin sisters so she decided to make them bracelets and here is what she came up with.  Had some trouble with knots and fastenings but for her first attempt I think she has made some lovely little braclets and hope that she will keep up the new found interest.

Here she is modelling the pink one which is on 2 strands of elastic cord

the black and silver one has more movement to the beads and is on some silver chain.

Crafty Sentiments ~ Easter

Yes it Thursday which means Crafty Sentiments challenge day.  I'm having so much fun with all the images that are available at the store now, you really are spoilt for choice, something for everyone.  This week the challenge is 'Easter' so I have taken one of the Easter sentiment circles and enlarged it, removed the centre piece and instead have put 'Charles with his egg' in there coloured using copics.  The papers are a few of my last scraps of MME Bloom & Grow to which I have added some lace and then in the punched out corners I have added some buttons.

Crafty Sentiments are also sponsoring the challenge this week and the lucky winner will get 3 digi stamps from store.  So what are you waiting for check out the rest of the DT work and then join in with the challenge, we look forward to seeing your entries.

Anyone For Anya? ~ Circle card

This weeks challenge over at Anyone For Anya? is to make a circular card so I opted for an easel card and for the base of the card I used an old cd and covered it in some of my paper which is from a digi kit by Rapsberry Road Designs called Colour Your World and I added some Kraft paper to it.  This is another of my new stamps from the closing down sale at Silly Monkey Crafts and is from the Down on the Farm set.  I have coloured her with copics and a touch of sakura stardust.  I wanted to keep this card bright and cheery hence the bold colours and found that when I put it together there really didnt seem to be the need for extra embellishments as it all felt busy enough and I didnt want to overload it.  My circles and flowers shapes are a mixture of Nesties and Nellies dies (I love the fact that I can combine them)  The sentiment is also from TGF from the Spotlight Collection.

April Showers, pop up card

When I was at the show the other week I picked up a couple of templates for making some different cards and I have finally got round to trying one.  I went for a triple pop-up boxy card and I thought it was going to be really difficult but was surprised that I didnt find it too hard!  For my card I chose to use Flopsy in the rain from Crafty Sentiments, I coloured the image with copics then used diamond glaze on the top of the umbrella and dusted lightly with glamour dust, my grass infront is cut using a Marianne die.  I decided to make this card for the challenge over at Totally Gorjuss this week which is NO patterned paper so instead I used texture plates and embossing folders to add texture which I also inked and I made the cloud background following the tutorial over at Crafty Sentiments Tutorial blog.  The sentiment was done on the pc.  For my first attempt at a triple pop-up I'm pleased with how it turned out.

the second photo shows the raindrop texture a little better

Anyone For Anya ~ egg-citing colour challenge

Ok I am only just going to make this in time and I have had the web page for Anyone For Anya up on my pc screen and I keep refreshing it to keep an eye on the time left and I am going to make it!   I have used some K&Co 12x12 paper with glittered butterflies to make this little easter gift bag after seeing one that my friend Heather made at the Stitch & Creative Craft show at the SU stall, I thought the one she made was just so cute and had been made out of a piece of 6x6 card so I just doubled all the measurements (Heahter very kindly unglued it and gave it to me to copy! what a friend she is :) ) so hey presto my bag is made and then I used Anya from the spotlight collection coloured with copic and added the sentiment from Crafty Sentiments and some lace trim that I bought today.  The bag is held closed with a couple of little magnets.

I would also like to enter this little bag into the following challenges:

Sketch & Stash # 59

Whoo hooo!  I've got a week off!  hope to get plenty of crafting done too.  So I'm starting with this card that I've made using the sketch over at Sketch and Stash.  My new stash is the metallic mesh ribbon that I have made the butterflies with, I saw a lady demonstrating these at the show and just had to have some mine of course are not as good as hers but I really do like the effect and oh so simple just need a bit more practice.  There are a few different ways to use the mesh ribbon too!  My papers are from my scrap drawers so not sure what makes.  The adorable little image is from the Sugar 'n' Spice collection available at Charmed Cards and Crafts and is one of the pre coloured ones cut her out using a nestie, the sentiment is a freebie from Sentimental Sundays and that has been cut out using a new die from Nellies Multi Frames as are the corner decorations (again new stash!) I then just added some little multicoloured rhinestones to the frame.

I would also like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Bookmarks with Crafty Sentiments

Gosh, many apologies for the lateness of my post today, meant to shedule this before I went to work last night but totally forgot and as it was a night shift was too tired when I got home this morning at 8 so now I've had my sleep and am raring to go (not! lol)  Anyway this week at Crafty Sentiments we want to see your bookmarks and the DT have worked their magic and you may even spot one of the new Manga images and also some of the wonderful new 'Charles Bear' which were released recently and all are available in store now.  I have used Amy on a cloud for mine, this is such an adorable image and I have to admit we are spoilt for choice at Crafty Sentiments.  I chose to do a corner bookmark as I see these a lot and always think how nice but different these look.  I made one qutie a while ago but this time I kinda made a cheats one and snipped the corner from a sealed envelope and I still have another corner to use for another bookmark!  The cloud background is one that is on our Inspiration Blog by fellow teamie Heather, she used this a while back and I thought how good it looked so thought it was the perfect way to create a background for Amy.  I coloured Amy with my copics and added some glitter with sakura stardust pens.  I kept the bookmark simple as I really wanted Amy to stand out, hope you like it.

Dont forget to check out the rest of the DT work and then jump on in and join us for the challenge, this week we are sponsored by
and the prize is one sheet of their fabulous digi images.

SNEEK PEEK!

WOW!  There is a treat in store heading your way and my card tonight is just a glimpse of what the Crafty Sentiments Store has coming up!  So without further ado let me introduce you the divine 'Eve' - isnt she just gorgeous.  I really enjoyed working with her tonight and she is not the only new digi image that is coming but you'll just have to keep watching!  I know what a tease but it will be worth it! lol

Anyway onto my card, the papers are all digi and come from a kit called 'Let It Rock' by Sweet Blossom Designs and I thought they worked well with Eve, the red paper I also embossed with a new folder that I got when I went to the Stitch & Creative Crafts show last week, the sentiment is by Raindrop Echo Designs for Whimsy Stamps from the Fast Lane Collection, the tiny flowers I have had for a long time and the tiny buttons were also part of my recent stash buying trip.

Hope you enjoy this sneek peek of Eve, thanks for stopping by.

Shopped til I dropped!

Well I have had a great day!  A crafting friend and I went to Shepton Mallet for the Stitch & Creative Crafts event and I shopped, had lunch and shopped some more! and now I am shattered but have been sat here admiring my purchases!  I bought a real assortment of bits and at the moment cant decide which is my favourite, quite possibly it will be the mesh ribbon that I got in 6 different colours because after watching the demo I was hooked! so expect to see that appearing on some projects soon, also got some card templates to make it easier to create some different cards and I managed to find an 'round it all' which I have wanted for quite some time but finding one at the right price is another matter (this one cost me £12)! lol  I'm now really looking forward to getting some serious playtime in but that wont be this weekend unfortunately! :(

Hope you all have a great crafting weekend. xx

Crafty Sentiments ~ Glitter

Gosh its Thursday already, I am so behind with internet stuff after having none for best part of a week but I did manage to complete my DT card for this weeks challenge over at Crafty Sentiments and I know its a challenge you are all going to love as its GLITTER, nice and easy!  Well for my project this week I have made a 'Bagalope', I love how these work and they are so simple to make but really effect as gift bags.  I have used a C4 sized one, the papers are Shabby Princess ~ Festival and I have inked around the different elements.  The sentiment is one of the new Easter Circles that are available now over at the Crafty Sentiments Store and I have used the basket from another of the sentiments and digitally added it to Flopsy who was originally holding an ice cream, this is why I love digi images so much, they really are so flexible you can print them any size you want to fit your project and you can add parts to them which is just like the masking technique for rubber stamping!  Anyway my glitter comes in the shape of the sparkly blue chipboard flowers and the eggs in Flospy's basket are coloured with sakura stardust glitter pens.  The flower shapes under the sentiment have been cut using a Nellie's Multi Frame I have inked them and then mounted them using foam pads.  This bagalope will come in handy over Easter as we tend to give gifts of book/cds/dvds instead of eggs now so will possibly make some more if time allows!  Please dont forget to check out what the rest of the DT have made for you this week, it really is outstanding work, truely beautiful and then when you've checked all that out why not join in the challenge - 'Go on You know You want to!'

I would like to enter this in to the following challenges:

Helloooooooo! I am still here

Hello one and all, I am still here really but having been having major problems with my internet connection but thanks to a very nice man at Virgin all appears to be well again now, can't believe its been almost a week with out proper connection.  It really is amazing how much we have come to rely on the internet but all is now well again in our house!  Anyway this means I have missed some challenges, am behind on leaving comments but I did have a nice surpise while I was playing catch up on the challenges for the week, my Mothers Day card where I hid the message under the image was the winner of the challenge over at Crafts 4 Eternity so I am thrilled about that.  You'd think with no internet I'd have been able to create loads of cards but what with work and trying to get it all sorted I have not done any crafting so really must pull my finger out and get going again.

See you all out there in blogland. xx
