Caught in Crystal

Ok while I was travelling round blogland I came across an interesting card that led me to Technique Time Tuesday so I had a looky see and thought I'd give it a go!  Once I'd decide which stamp I wanted to use I realised I didn't really have a suitable stamp for the background so thought I'd see how it looked using patterned paper and I am really pleased with how it turned out.  Once the image was all dry and ready for mounting I discovered that if I wasn't against just placing the image I could actually line up the printed paper of the image panel with the background paper then I just finished off with a few stamps around the edge.  This is all I did in the way of embellishment as I felt the panel itself was interesting enough.  It's certainly a technique I will be doing again and experimenting with different images and papers, might need to get some ink as well as I only have 2 Adirondack inks at the moment ~ currant and meadow, might see how coloured glitter works too as I used glamour dust here.  It is very hard to get a good picture because of the acetate and glitter but it really does sparkle and shine irl! lol

SPOILER ALERT! DON'T LOOK MUM!

I'm posting this early on my blog to take part in some challenges and I'm working all weekend, (late Saturday, sleepin and long day Sunday!) so Mum if you are here look away now!  I was having a look at the tutorials on SCS and found one for a Triangular Tri-fold card and thought I'd give it a go!  It was actually easier than I thought it would be and I like the finished effect.

For my card I have used papers from Bearly Mine Designs Spring Daffodils, such pretty papers. The sentiment on the front is a digi from Crafty Sentiments Design and the sentiment inside is pc generated.  I have used the fabulous 'Super Mum' image from Kenny K and a banner die from Joanna Sheen, a few little gems have been added and that as they say is that!  I kept it fairly flat as it's going in the post.

Good morning, it's time for a new challenge over at Crafty Catz and this week it's the turn of our wonderful Kim to choose the theme and she has picked 'Bling it Up'.  We have a great sponsor this week too ...

 PRIZE for March

So my card for this weeks challenge uses an old favourite image that goes back to my early days of blogging and he hasn't been out of my pc in quite some time!  The image is George from the Dottie and George images available at Charmed Cards and Crafts.  This time I have used him in precoloured form as it fitted with how I wanted my card to look.  I teamed it up with gold glitter card and black cs which I embossed with a musical notes folder.  The stars were cut from the gold glitter card using my Cricut and I finished off by adding some sakura stardust to the rhinestones on his outfit and some gems, one is on his chain round his neck.  The sentiment comes with the image.  I must say I did enjoy visiting with George and really must do it again soon! lol
